Turkish Ambassador Notes Role of Camel Festivals in Preserving Qatari Identity and Heritage

HE Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the State of Qatar Dr. Mehmet Mustafa Goksu praised the remarkable role of the camel festivals in the State of Qatar in preserving and promoting the national identity and cultural heritage, to remain an asset for the country and for future generations, pointing to the importance of Qatar Camel Festival "Gazilat Al-Ata" in supporting authentic folk values and the ancient Arab heritage.

On the sidelines of his attendance at the festival and awarding of the winners, HE the Turkish Ambassador said that such festivals are very important occasions as they preserve the popular and national identity and unite all under one banner to revive heritage and recall the past which should be proud of.

HE the Ambassador added that such festivals encourage young people to preserve the heritage of their ancestors and fathers, and then pass it on from generation to generation, in addition to introducing the Qatari culture and the authentic Arab heritage.

HE the Turkish Ambassador praised the distinguished role of all those in charge of such festivals that preserve heritage, led by the wise leadership of the State of Qatar, pointing to the great organization of Qatar Camel Festival, and the role of head of the organizing committee Hamad Al Athba, in producing it in a wonderful way that appeared in the response of the participants and their joy during the runs.
