Qatar's beach volleyball team to participate in the FIVB Mexico tour

The Qatar beach volleyball team, consisting of the duo Cherif Younes and Ahmed Tejan, will start its campaign in the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour in Rosarito Mexico, which will witness the participation of the Elite 16 teams with the prize for each round set at $300,000 from March 24 to 27.

The Qatar national team was drawn in the first group of Mexico, accompanied by the Brazil team, consisting of Evandro Gonçalves and Alvaro Moraes Filho, (the ninth seed), and the Polish team, consisting of the duo Michael Braille, and Bartosz Luciak (the eighth seed).

The Qatar national team are currently ranked first in the world and are coming off of winning the bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Qatar will play its first match against Brazil, consisting of duo Evandro and Alvaro, on March 25, followed by its second match with Poland, consisting of duo Michael Braille and Bartosz Luciak on the same day.

Qatar held a training camp in Los Angeles, USA, after participating in joint training with the duo of the US national team consisting of Tyler and Brownie during the preparatory camp to support the beach volleyball in America.

The Pro Tour will be held in a number of countries where South Africa will host the second round, and the third round will be held in Brazil.

The Fédération International de Volleyball has updated the world tour system, whereby these rounds are played with a point classification at 3 levels (200, 400 and 600 points), instead of the previous classification, which is the stars starting from one star and up to the fifth star.
