The Qatari men's beach handball team qualified for the 2022 IHF Beach Handball World Championship, scheduled for Greece next June, after a convincing 2-0 victory over Vietnam in the fourth round match of the eighth Asian Men's Beach Handball Championship currently being held in Iran's capital city of Tehran.
Saturday's victory was Qatar's fourth win in a row which helped them to collect 8 points and book their place in the 2022 IHF Beach Handball World Championships, regardless of their result in upcoming game against hosts Iran.
Besides hosts Iran and defending champions Qatar, Oman, Vietnam, the Philippines, and India are participating in the event.
Teams securing the top two positions in the continental event will qualify for the World Championships in Greece.
Qatar won the championship title in China in 2019, after defeating Oman 2-0 in the final match.
