Qatar suffers its second loss to Syria at the West Asian Youth Volleyball Championship

Qatar's U20 national volleyball team came up short against its Syrian counterpart 3-2, suffering their second consecutive loss at the 1st West Asian Youth Volleyball Championship currently being held in Saudi Arabia with the participation of 10 teams.

Qatar advanced early to take the first and second sets 25-16 and 25-20 before Syria struck a huge comeback against Al Annabi taking the final three sets 20-25, 22-25, 11-15.

Qatar suffered its first loss to Palestine 3-2 (16-18/21-25/21-25/25-22/25-19).

Al Annabi will play its third match in the tournament on Monday against Kuwait, to then conclude its matches in the first round against hosts Saudi Arabia on July 26.

Qatar are pooled in Group B alongside Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Syria and Palestine, whilst group A consists of Iraq, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon and the UAE.
