Qatar's Abubaker Abdulla claimed the gold medal in the men's 800m event at the Fifth Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey with a 1:47:59 run, on Wednesday.
Also, on Wednesday, Qatar Musaab Ali clinched the bronze medal in Men's 3000m SC after clocking a time of 9:02:53 minutes.
On the other hand, Qatar's taekwondo star Maram Fatnassi took the bronze medal in the women’s 67kg event after losing to Iran's Zainab Ismaeli in the semifinals.
Today's medals brought Qatar's tally of medals to 4 including 2 gold medals and 2 bronze medals.
In Thursday’s encounters, Qatar’s volleyball team will lock horns against home side Turkey in their second game of group B, which also includes Iran and Pakistan.

This fifth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games is held from 9th to 18th of August with the participation of approximately 6000 athletes from 58 countries.
