The International Volleyball Federation announced on Tuesday that the Qatari beach volleyball team, consisting of the Sherif Younis and Ahmed Tijan duo, achieved second rank in the Olympic classification with a score of 7,720 points, behind only the rank one Norwegian team with 10,960 points.

In the past, the Qatari team achieved many accomplishments and good results in all the tournaments they participated in, including achieving the silver medal at the Sochi World Tour Championship, recently held in Russia, with a rating of 4 stars, as well as reaching the quarterfinals of the Czech Ostrava tour, which concluded on Sunday. The Qatari beach volleyball team qualified for the upcoming postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games even before participating in the decisive qualifying rounds, and the team had previously won the gold medal for the third round of the Cancun World Championship, which concluded in Mexico in May, in which they won the silver medal in the first and second rounds.

The Qatari team is looking forward to advance in the world rankings of the national teams, before its next participation in the upcoming Olympic Games.
