QFA PRESIDENT MEETS SEC-GEN OF QATAR RED CRESCENT

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), received Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the Qatar Red Crescent (QRC).

The reception was attended by Saud Abdulaziz Al-Mohannadi, Vice President of QFA, Mansour Al-Ansari, Secretary-General, QFA, and Ali Dawood, Executive Director of the Office of the President of QFA.

Also present were Eng. Ibrahim Al-Malki, Executive Director of Qatar Red Crescent, Abdullah Al-Qattan, Executive Director of the Medical Affairs Sector, and Hassan Al-Ahbabi, Director of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs.

The visit represents a consolidation of the close relations between the QFA and the QRC, within the framework of what the Federation seeks to strengthen its ties with all civil society institutions and continue joint efforts in the field of social responsibility.

During the meeting, they discussed topics of common interest and ways to activate them, especially concerning the community programs provided by the QRC.

The meeting also discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the future to enhance and develop the mechanism for implementing joint community programs between the two parties, especially since the QFA is linked to a close partnership with the QRC.

The most recent fruit of this successful partnership was the initiative held in conjunction with the two semi-final matches of the Amir Cup under the title “I was fed – I donated”, in cooperation between the QFA and the Qatar Red Crescent.

The humanitarian initiative aims to support the provision of a COVID-19 vaccine to refugees, displaced people, and migrants worldwide, including a broad international advocacy campaign that includes many national societies, international organizations, and Qatari institutions.
