Qatar Team Meets Kuwaiti Counterpart Tuesday at Start of International Handball Tournament

The Qatari handball team will meet with its Kuwaiti counterpart on Tuesday at the start of the Qatar International Handball Tournament for men, organized by the Qatar Handball Association, and will continue until next Saturday, with the participation of the teams of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iran. 

Another match will be held tomorrow, bringing together the Saudi and Iranian teams. 

The tournament matches will continue next Thursday, where the teams of Kuwait and Iran will meet in the first match, and Qatar with Saudi Arabia in the second match. 

The tournament is part of the Qatari teams preparations to participate in the 20th edition of 2022 Asian Men's Handball Championship to be held in Saudi Arabia from January 18 to 31, and qualifies for the 2023 World Men's Handball Championship in Poland and Sweden. 

The Qatari team is looking forward to reaching the maximum possible readiness before the next Asian qualifier, to defend its title and get one of the qualifying cards for the 2023 World Men's Handball Championship, for the ninth time in the history of Qatari handball after participating in the editions of Portugal 2003, Tunisia 2005, Germany 2007, Spain 2013, Qatar 2015, France 2017, Germany and Denmark 2019 and Egypt 2021, and getting second place in the Qatar 2015 edition was the best result for the Qatari team in the history of its participation.
