Qatar Promises Unique Experience for Formula 1 Fans

The State of Qatar hosts for the first time in its history a round of the 2021 Formula 1 (F1), under the floodlights at the Losail International Circuit, northeast of Doha.

The F1 will take place during the period from Nov. 19 to 21, with the participation of the most prominent stars of this sport.

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) chose Doha to host the 20th round of the 22-round season, instead of Australia, which apologized for hosting it for the second time in a row, due to the restrictions imposed to limit the outbreak of the emerging Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Qatar will achieve a new success in hosting the most prominent motor championships in the world, in light of its organization since the beginning of the millennium, MotoGP and Superbike, world's top two motorcycle racing championships, annually.

The "Formula One" race, also known as the Grand Prix, is the highest level of open-wheeled single-seater Formula racing, in which racing cars may exceed the speed of 320 km / h (200 mph).

The Ooredoo Qatar Grand Prix , is a unique experience, filled with different activities, live music performances, artists and various entertainment games.

The Losail International Circuit, which is characterized by its famous track and its leading international facilities, has completed all the work and is ready to host the global event, which will be the first race in which the State of Qatar will test the magic and luster of Formula 1, and then continue targeting new markets and different categories from all over the world to discover Qatar before hosting the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Qatar is betting heavily on the popularity of the first category races, after it signed a ten-year contract with the organizers of the Formula 1 championship last September, according to which it will host one of the Formula 1 rounds from 2023 to 2032, in addition to hosting this years race.

The contract was financed by Ooredoo, one of the world's largest telecommunications companies, and it hopes to attract fans through the race that will be held in the evening under the floodlights at the Losail International Circuit.

Qatar joined the club of the hosting countries for Formula 1 races, after a rich experience with the MotoGP World Championship in the MotoGP, Moto 2 and Moto 3 categories, as well as the Superbike that it organizes annually, as well as the Motocross that it no longer organizes since 2017.

Although Qatar has become the fourth Gulf country, joining Bahrain, UAE, and Saudi Arabia, to have the honor of hosting one of the Formula 1 World Championship rounds, it will be the 3rd country in the actual hosting, given that the round that Saudi Arabia will host this season will also take place on Dec. 5.

Qatar's hosting of the 20th round of the World Championship, will make the Middle East region in general and the Gulf in particular, enjoy an exciting conclusion to the most prominent event in Formula One, as the last three rounds will be held in Qatar on Nov. 21, then Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and Abu Dhabi (UAE) respectively on Dec. 5 and 12.

Qatar's hosting of round 20 of the F1 World Championship has attracted great interest, especially from the those interested in this sport, as the CEO of Formula 1 Stefano Domenicali welcomed Qatar's entry into the Formula 1 calendar this season and for the long term, starting from the year 2023.

He explained that Qatar showed great seriousness and enthusiasm, which confirms its ability to organize the event in a wonderful way, especially in light of hosting many world championships, whether in cars or motorcycles, over the past decades.

Qatar's hosting of round 20 will allow maintaining a calendar of 22 races, as 18 races have been held so far, while today in Brazil the19th race of the season, which witnesses a fiery competition between the British Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) world champion, and the Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull) leads the drivers' standings, ten points ahead of the first.

The famous Losail Circuit Club is preparing to prepare the famous 5,380-kilometre circuit to welcome the most prominent stars of the Formula 1 race, especially the British Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, and the Dutchman Max Verstappen, the leader in the general classification this season, as well as all the teams participating in the tour. The club also prepared a series of entertainment activities for thousands of fans during the event.

Three areas were set up for fans around the different stands during the three-day event, where entertainment activities will include live music performances, artists and various entertainment games. Fans can also enjoy the augmented reality experience with a virtual Formula 1 track, and various racing simulators.

During the event, fans and visitors of the Losail International Circuit are waiting for a variety of cuisines that serve all tastes, in addition to the presence of the Formula 1 store to buy tickets, as well as amazing and fun air shows for the audience, especially in the afternoon.

Fans wishing to experience a special atmosphere at the Losail Circuit will have to arrive at the site well in advance of the start of the race for all three days, to avoid unnecessary entry congestion as tens of thousands of fans are expected to arrive over the three days of the event.

The public will also receive special services throughout the race days, such as free shuttle buses to move between Lusail Metro Station and Lusail International Circuit, and taxi services will also be available on all days of events at Lusail International Circuit.

It is scheduled that the directives of the Ministry of Public Health will be strictly implemented throughout the race days at the Losail International Circuit, where fans with tickets must be fully immunized and the period for receiving the second dose must not be less than 14 days.

It will also require all fans to show the gold frame and the green code on EHTERAZ app on their mobile phones inside Qatar, while fans coming from abroad must show their official certificate regarding obtaining a (Covid-19) vaccine before entering the Losail International Circuit.
