The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy held a press conference on Sunday to announce the closure of Corniche Street ahead of the FIFA Arab Cup preparations.
The Corniche area will be closed during the organization of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 from the 26 November to 4 December 2021.
The press conference was attended by representatives of a number of stakeholders, including the Ministry of Interior, SCDL, Public Works Authority, Qatar Rail, Mowasalat (Karwa) and Qatar Tourism.
First Lieutenant Khaled Nasser Al Mulla, head of the technical team (representative of the Ministry of Interior), said that the closure will be from November 26 in the morning until December 4 provided that the surrounding roads are open to reduce traffic congestion, and alternative means have been provided from the public transport.
