Al Sadd players return to training following outbreak

Al Sadd players returned to training yesterday after the club opened the training centre following a lengthy break due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the squad.

The QNB Stars League champions were forced to call off training on January 6 after many players tested positive for the virus. While some players trained remotely, the Wolves’ QNB Stars League matches – Al Wakrah, Qatar and Al Rayyan – were postponed due to the unavailability of players.

Al Sadd’s next match is against Al Shamal on Tuesday at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium. The reigning champions are second in the table with 31 points from 11 matches.

Al Duhail top the table with 32 points, but have played three more matches than unbeaten Al Sadd. Al Gharafa and Al Arabi (both on 23 points) are in the third and fourth spots respectively.
