Qatar national team players Ali Al Obaidli and Bashar Hussein qualified for the second round of the IBSF 2022 World Snooker Championship organized by the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation (QBSF), with the participation of 62 players representing 29 countries.
Al Obaidli qualified after defeating today his Mongolian counterpart Win Ko Ko, by 4-1 in the second round of the 14th group, Al Obaidli had won his inaugural match in the first round against Iranian Ali Roshanikiya, by 4-2 after a strong match.
Al Obaidli will play a difficult match against the Indian Laxman Rawat, one of the most prominent players nominated to compete for the title, in the third round in the 14th group, after which the group leader will be determined.
The other Qatari cueist Bashar Hussein grabbed the second card from the 15th group which includes only three players, after winning his first match against Bangladeshi Asif Imran 4-0.
Bashar is scheduled to face Iraqi Ali Hussein on Tuesday in the second and final round of the group after which the group leader will be determined.
