Al Rayyan will face Al Shamal on Friday in Week 22 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League.
Al Rayyan coach Nicolas Cordova said, "Al Shamal got more rest than us because they had not played for a week, and it will be an important match for us.
"The last match was better than our previous matches and the team was more organized on the field. We made a special effort and knew that matches must be won to achieve the desired result. Not just performance will do, and we must keep working to achieve victory.
"The important thing is that there will be time for training, and this is what we have been missing during the last period training regularly and preparing for a week before the match," said Cordova.
Meanwhile, Al Shamal coach Hisham Zahid said, "We hope to end the season in a proper manner for Al Shamal club by displaying good levels.
"Al Rayyan are a great team, and we respect them a lot regardless of their current standings, but they remain big and have players at the highest level.
"I hope the players will display the performance expected of them and be up to the expectations.
"We had a good season, be it during the period in which I was in charge or during the former coach (Hicham Jadrane). I hope the team will finish the season well," said Hisham.
