Longines Hathab: Al Marri wins Medium Tour astride Navaronne

Rashid Towaim Al Marri, astride nine-year-old mare Navaronne, won the Medium Tour class during the 12th round of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrain Tour yesterday.

At the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab, the pair combined to post a winning total of 40.29 secs in the jump-off, which saw an entry list of 14 rider-horse combinations. 

Al Marri and Navaronne’s were 0.08 seconds faster than Nasser Al Ghazali and his 10-year-old gelding Hurry Up. In third place was Mohamed Saeed Haidan on D Saucedo, who clocked a time of 41.29 secs. 

The Medium tour team title was won by ExxonMobil, which had Cyrine Cherif (Brennus Villelongue) and Rashid Towaim Al Marri in the line-up. Team Al Kass took second place, followed by Salam International.


In the Small Tour class, Mohamed Jabor Al Naimi emerged triumphant with Naville Z in a time of 55.50 secs. Mohamed Nasser Al Qadi was second with Vlacido in 55.90 secs, while Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi came third with Nenya in 57.64 secs.
