Two of the best Qatari riders, brothers Saeed and Hamad Nasser Al Qadi will set their sights on the grand prize in the Big Tour of Season 5 of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour when the 14th and final round of the popular series kicks off today at the Longines Indoor Arena at Al Shaqab.

Points leader and former overall Big Tour champion Saeed Nasser Al Qadi will be looking to excel once more to taste the title win yet again while his brother and 2020 champion Hamad Nasser Al Qadi chases another title win after missing out on the glory last season to Nasser Al Ghazali.

Saeed leads the tally with 246 points after 13 rounds while Hamad trails by just eight points, followed by Al Ghazali and Faleh Swaid Al Ajmi who have 233 points in front of his names, making the grand finale of the series highly exciting. In the fifth place is Mubarak Yousef Al Rumaihi with 227 points.

In the Medium Tour, Rashid Twaim Al Marri, leads the standings with a score of 251 points, followed by Cyrine Cherif at 245 points. Muhammad Saeed Haidan is a distant third with 207 points and it means either Al Marri or Cherif will be able to lift the Medium Tour title if any major upset did not occur.

The Future Riders class has already been decided following the 13th round, with Muhammad Jaber Al Nuaimi claiming the title with 261 points while Hadi Mansour Al Shahwani and Hadi Nasser Al Shahwani won the Future Riders classes Levels 1 and 2. ExxonMobil won the team title after scoring 270 points with a clear lead over their closest rivals - Team Al Kass (238 points).

Vice President of the Higher Organising Committee of Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour and Commercial Director of Al Shaqab, Omar Al Mannai was pleased with the success of the fifth edition of the popular series, which is jointly conducted by the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Al Shaqab.

“The event has been a huge success. All the rounds have witnessed a high level of competition by the riders and horses. Also, several promising riders have emerged through Hathab and they will only get better with experience,” he added.
