Minister of Sports and Youth honours Qatari athletes from Arch to Arc Triathlon

Minister of Sports and Youth H E Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali honoured Qatari athletes who participated in the prestigious Arch to Arc Triathlon, from July 12 to 19. 

The ceremony was also attended by Advisor to H E Minister and President of the Sports for All Federation Abdulrahman Musallam Al Dosari.

The Minister of Sports and Youth praised the efforts made by the Qatari team in their successful mission in the challenge, which embodies the extent of development reached by the Qatari sports, and highlights the outstanding capabilities of the Qatari youth and their ability to represent their country and reflect an honourable image in various sports forums and at all levels.

For their part, the members of the team participated in the Arch to Arc Triathlon, the world’s longest triathlon that connects London and Paris, Talal Al Emadi, Fahad Al Buainain and Abdulaziz Al Abdullah, praised the attention and care accorded by the Ministry of Sports and Youth to their historical participation in this global challenge, represented by the Qatar Sports for All Federation. 

They also stressed that the support provided to them to make their participation in the challenge successful represents a great incentive for them to participate in such global challenges and raise the name of Qatar in international sports events.

The Qatari team was able to complete the Arch to Arc Triathlon, which has a total distance of 491 kilometers, in a record time of 69 hours and 20 minutes. 

The journey includes running, swimming and cycling starting from the Marble Arch in London, to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
