Team Qatar gets off to flying start at the fifth Islamic Solidarity Games

Qatar's Tosin Ogunode qualified for the final of Men's 100m after clocking in a Games record of 09:98 seconds, while Bassem Hemeida also qualified for the final of the Men's 400m hurdles event after leading the heats with a time of 49:70 seconds.

Qatar men's handball team began their campaign at Islamic Solidarity Games with a 22-20 victory over Morocco.

Qatar men's volleyball team will begin their campaign at Islamic Games with a match against Iran on Tuesday while Abdulqader Asfour will participate in Men's 58 kg Taekwondo event on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Qatari national women's team of 3x3 basketball, fencing, basketball, fencing and judo arrived in Turkey on Monday to participate in this edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games.

This fifth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games will run from 9th to 18th of  August and will see 6000 athletes from 56 countries competing for 483 medals in 27 sports.
