The Lusail Super Cup Local Organizing Committee has announced Qatari Diar as the Presenting Partner for the Lusail Super Cup, which will be held at Lusail Stadium - the biggest of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums - on Friday 9 September between the league champions in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.


In a press conference held Monday at Al Bidda Tower - the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy's headquarters, Marketing Director of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC Hassan Rabia Al Kuwari expressed his delighted to partner with Qatari Diar to stage the Lusail Super Cup at the 80,000-capacity Lusail Stadium, which will also host the FIFA World Cup final later this year.


He added that the development of Lusail City - built by Qatari Diar - is one of Qatars major achievements and they are very proud to be hosting huge matches in this location, pointing out that they are also very excited to be staging FIFA World Cup matches in Lusail later this year, including the final on Qatar National Day.


Director of the CEO Office and Public Relations of Qatari Diar Ahmed Mohammed Khalifa Al Sada stressed that staging the Lusail Super Cup will be yet another proud moment in the story of Lusail City, which is one of the fastest-growing and most sustainable cities in the world.


He added that everyone in Qatar and across the region is eagerly awaiting the FIFA World Cup and they are incredibly proud that Lusail City and Lusail Stadium will play a prominent role during the tournament as they welcome fans from across the globe.


Lusail Stadium will host ten matches during Qatar 2022, starting with Argentina versus Saudi Arabia on 22 November and culminating with the final on 18 December.


The stadium boasts a host of sustainability features, including a roof made from PTFE that protects the venue from warm wind, keeps out dust and allows in enough light for the pitch to grow while providing shade to reduce the burden on the stadiums air conditioning.


Lusail Stadium achieved a five-star Global Sustainability Assessment System GSAS rating for its design and build and a Class A* rating for construction management.


Lusail City is Qatari Diars flagship project and spans 38,000,000m. It is the largest single development in the countrys history and embodies the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to develop a knowledge economy and reduce reliance on hydrocarbons.


More than 200,000 residents will eventually live in Lusail, with 170,000 people expected to work in the citys 19 districts, which will encompass residential, commercial, hospitality and retail opportunities, along with community needs, like schools, healthcare facilities, mosques, sporting facilities, entertainment and shopping areas.


There will also be a new financial district, two golf courses, beaches and a marina to host 1,800 boats and yachts.
