Qatar lawyers association holds international sports conference

Qatar Football Association

The Qatar Lawyers Association will organise the International Sports Conference, under the auspices of the Qatar Football Association, on Wednesday, the 26th of this month, from nine in the morning until four in the afternoon at Al Sailiya Hall, Grand Hyatt Hotel.

The conference is being held as part of a social responsibility initiative of the Qatar Football Association and the Qatar Lawyers Association, and with the participation of supporting bodies, sponsors and partners, coinciding with the final preparations for Qatar’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup.

The upcoming World Cup prompted the Qatar Lawyers Association to organise the International Sports Conference, which will see representatives discuss and review the readiness of the State of Qatar in terms of logistics and also from a legal standpoint, in addition to looking at Qatar’s vision beyond the World Cup.

The sessions will focus on shedding light on the work done to host the World Cup, in terms of facilities, infrastructure, and event management, and also put forward a discussion on the latest updates that have been made to sports laws – the impact of which we will see during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 – in the presence of representatives of sports bodies, academics involved in the field of sports, and sports lawyers.

Agenda

The one-day event will start at nine and end at four in the afternoon. The conference will be opened by the speech of His Excellency Mr. Masoud bin Mohammed Al Ameri, Minister of Justice, and representatives of the sports bodies, after which the first dialogue session will begin.

This will witness the presence of representatives of prominent authorities in Qatar that contributed to the country’s level of readiness that we see today, most notably the Public Works Authority, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and the other bodies that worked on building sports infrastructure projects. In addition to the above, representatives of Katara Cultural Village will also address the session, discussing the plans for programmes and events that Katara intends to organise during the World Cup.
