Qatar Football Association

Qatar, the current Asian Cup champions, will be taking part in the CONCACAF Gold Cup for the second time in a row next year.

From June 16 to July 16, 2023, the United States will serve as the CONCACAF Gold Cup host nation. The final will be held in the SoFi Stadium, and the draw is scheduled for April 14, 2023.

It is the seventh time the Gold Cup final will be held in Los Angeles for more than a decade, as the LA Memorial Coliseum has hosted four finals (1991, 1996, 1998, and 2000), while the famous Rose Bowl Stadium hosted the finals in 2002 and 2011.

Additionally, Concacaf has also confirmed important details regarding next summer’s tournament, including the 2023 Gold Cup format, match dates, the nations which have already secured a berth, and that the official draw will take place on April 14, 2023.

Al-Anabi produced outstanding success in 2021 by defeating Grenada and Honduras before drawing with Panama to advance to the semi-finals. Prior to falling to the United States in the tournament’s final four, Qatar had defeated El Salvador.

Feared striker Al-Moiz Ali scored the goal of the tournament in 2021.

The CONCACAF Gold Cup, the premier senior men’s soccer competition in North America, crowns the region’s champion. The competition’s previous name was CONCACAF Championship until 1989.

Qatar is not a member of the North American football confederation CONCACAF but was invited to the Gold Cup as a guest for the first time in 2021.
