The Qatar Stars League (QSL) announced that a number of matches in the upcoming rounds of the 2022- 23 season will be postponed in coordination with the clubs over some players' participation with their national teams in the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup (Gulf 25), due to be held Jan. 6-19 in Basra, Iraq.
According to the announcement, Week 8 matches will be held next Wednesday and Thursday, Week 9 will be played on Jan. 11 and 12, and Week 10 on Jan. 17 and 18.
In the Week 8, Al Duhail plays with Al Gharafa at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium next Wednesday, Al Rayyan faces Al Sailiya at Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium, and the leaders Al Arabi against Al Ahli at the same stadium on Thursday. The matches that were postponed are Umm Salal vs. Al Markhiya, Al Sadd vs. Qatar, and Al Shamal vs. Al Wakrah. The Al Markhiya vs. Al Shamal clash in Week 9 was also postponed.
In Week 10, Al Sailiya vs. Al Markhiya and Al Shamal vs. Umm Salal will be postponed to April 25 in case Iraq advanced to Khaleeji 25 semi-finals.
