Bahrain beat Qatar 2-1 this evening in the second round of group stage games at Al-Minaa Olympic Stadium in Basra, Iraq.
Qatar got ahead in the 34th minute with a goal from Ahmed Alaaeldin, but an own goal from Mohammed Waad in the 72nd minute and a penalty awarded for handball and converted by Abdulla Yusuf Helal in the 89th turned the game around, and the Bahrainis took all three points on offer.
Tonight's result leaves Bahrain top of Group B on six points, with Qatar second on three points.
In the next round, Qatar will take on the UAE in their final group stage match on Friday night, as Bahrain take on Kuwait.
