The Arabian Horse Auction took place Monday as part of the 3rd edition of the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF-2023), organized by the Cultural Village Foundation - Katara, under the generous patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

The event showed great success, with 23 horses auctioned, representing Qatar's most inveterate farms, amid the participation of dignitaries, in addition to the presence of equestrian sport lovers, as well as purebred Arabian horse owners and breeders from Qatar and abroad.

The auction witnessed a record-breaking high selling price for mare FT Sheila's egg at a price of QR 3.6 million.

KIAHF-2023 Arabian Horse Auction is an occasion for interested owners, breeders and fans to acquire the best of horses, especially since the auction's horses are of the finest types and have previously won international and regional championships. During the auction, those interested will be able to own the world's best purebred Arabian horse breeds.

The auction also serves as an opportunity for horse owners to put them for sale, thus enabling buyers to upgrade their stables and farms with superior show horses, able to compete in championships, or to support their own production of the purebred Arabian breed as these goals fall within the endeavor of the State of Qatar to preserve and perpetuate the Arabian breed.

The organizing committee General Secretary Malika Mohammed Al Shraim indicated that the equestrian sport is one of the sports that receive the State of Qatar's utmost attention and support, implementing international standards, making it a global and distinctive sports destination for riders and horse lovers who seek the distinguished tournaments that contribute to preserving the authentic Arab heritage.

Al Shraim stated that KIAHF is one of the most important equestrian sporting events, which seeks to protect the rich equestrian heritage through KIAHF's diverse events, be it horse and equestrian sports events, or art and cultural events.

The Organizing Committee General Secretary pointed out that the festival includes numerous cultural and artistic events and praised the horse auction's great organization as well as the distinguished participation of the most prominent purebred Arabian horse breeds, stressing the auction's success, especially given horse owners' eagerness to take part.

Katara was keen on launching the 3rd edition of this festival to revive the glorious history of its ancient culture and traditions, enriching the real heritage of Qatari equestrian sport.

The 3rd edition of this festival is receiving great international interest and attention, as the number of countries participating reached 18, competing fiercely with the best and finest authentic horse breeds transported from around the world, in the participation of 40 referees for the two horse beauty championships.
