JAKARTA, Indonesia, October 08, 2018 -The Qatari athletics team will begin their campaign in the 2018 Asian Para Games in Indonesia's capital Jakarta on Monday.
Nasser Al Sahouti will participate in Men's Shot-Put event while Mohammad Al Kebaisi will take part in Men's 800m event on Monday.
The Qatari athletics squad also includes Abdulrahman Abdulqader, Mohammad Al Abd, Debais Al Dosari and Sarah Masoud.
"We have had an outstanding success in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games as well as the previous Asian Para Games in South Korea and we are highly motivated for Jakarta. Our athletes trained hard and will do their best to win more medals for Team Qatar," said Ameer al Mulla, Executive Manager of the Qatar Paralympic Committee.
On the other hand, Qatar's goalball team suffered a 11-18 defeat at the hands of their Iraqi counterparts on Sunday.
The Qatari side will play their second match against Iran on Monday.
The prestigious games are bringing together 3000 athletes with various disabilities from 43 Asian nations to compete in 18 sport events.
