2022 FIFA's Best Player Lionel Messi has paid for 35 golden iPhone 14s to be delivered to the entire World Cup-winning Argentina squad and staff.

The Argentina captain and Paris Saint-Germain forward has reportedly teamed up with iDesign Gold to reward his teammates and coaching staff for their World Cup Qatar 2022 victory.

In an Instagram post alongside Messi, The CEO of iDesign Gold, Ben Lyons, said: "It was an honour to deliver 35 gold iphone 14 to @leomessi for his team mates & staff as a gift for winning the world cup final."

In another post showing the iPhones, iDesign Gold said: "35 gold iPhone 14 created for the Argentina squad and staff & delivered to @leomessi."

Every player's name, jersey number and the logo of Argentine Football Association (AFA) is carved into the 24-carat gold plated iPhones, which according to reports amounted to £175,000.

The iDesign Gold CEO in one interview said: “Lionel is not only the Goat but he’s one of iDesign Gold’s most loyal customers and got in touch with us a couple of months after the World Cup final. He said he wanted a special gift for all the players and staff to celebrate the amazing win but didn’t want the usual gift of watches. So, I suggested gold iPhones inscribed with their names, and he loved the idea.”
