Qatar SC were crowned overall champions of the first edition of the West Asian Youth Athletics Championship held at the Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium.

The championship saw over 250 athletes representing 12 clubs, competing over three days.

Qatar SC emerged champions after collecting 233 points from their participation in 22 competitions.

Al Arabi SC finished second with 207 points, followed by Kuwaiti Club Kazma in the third place with 121 points.

Another Kuwaiti club, Al Qadsia finished fourth with 108 points, Yemeni club Tarim in fifth place with 42 points, Oman’s Salalah club in sixth place with 23 points.

Al Salam club - also from Oman, finised seventh after collecting 19 points.

The Chairman of the supreme organising committee of the championship, Sheikh Suheim bin Abdulaziz Al Thani crowned the top three teams in the presence of President of the West Asian Athletics Association Sayyar Al Enezi and President of the Qatar Athletics Federation Mohamed Issa Al Fadala.
