Cyrine claims Big Tour and Open Class at Hathab

Cyrine Cherif excelled in the penultimate round of Qatar Equestrian Tour - Longines Hathab bagging the Big Tour and Open Class victories on the final day at Al Shaqab’s Longines Arena on Saturday night. The Qatar-based French rider paired up with nine-year-old Obama to clock 41.03s in the jump off to claim the Big Tour win. Cherif also secured third place in the contest, clocking 42.85s with I’am Moerhoeve’s Princess Z, facing four penalties. Sheikh Khalifa al-Thani, astride Ierland VDL, took second position in the event with a time of 43.85 secs after a flawless show. Qatar Equestrian Federation and the Modern Pentathlon president Bader Mohamed al-Darwish honoured the podium winners of Big Tour. Earlier, Cherif teamed up with 12-year-old Brennus Villelongue for a penalty-free performance in 58.33 secs to seal the Open Class victory. Sheikh Khalifa rode Serendipity to second place with a time of 58.83 secs while Mohamed Khalifa Albaker on What A Pleasure was third, finishing the course in 59.12 after an error-free run.
