Ramzy Al Duhami showed all his experience as the Saudi rider clinched the Medium Tour class during the 14th and final round of the Qatar Equestrian Tour - Longines Hathab at Al Shaqab’s Longines Arena on Friday night.

Al Duhami, who was on the Olympic bronze-medal-winning Saudi team at 2012 London Games and will be heading to his sixth Olympics in Paris next summer, guided 16-year-old gelding High Quality J to a comfortable victory in the 135 cm class. The 51-year-old rider finished his round in 67.31 secs to take home QR7,500 in prize money.

Qatar’s Salmeen Al Suwaidi astride Fiori LS was second in 69.23 secs, while Frenchwoman Cyrine Cherif came home third with her trusted stallion Brennus Villelongue in 69.57 secs.

Al Suwaidi was also part of the Qatari Armed Forces, which won the Medium Tour Team competition. Al Suwaidi and Khalid Mohamed Al Emadi combined for a total time of 144.19 secs.

In second place was Alfardan, with ExxonMobil taking the final podium spot.

It was a double delight for Mohamed Saeed Haidan in the Small Tour as the Qatari rider scooped top two places with different horses in the 115 cm class.

Haidan topped the timesheet with veteran mare Miss Chili as the pair registered time of 37.06 and 30.25 seconds in two rounds.

Haidan then led Kalwintic Ryal K to second place in 36.52 & 30.62 secs. Hamad Nasser Al Qadi onboard Nebrasco was third after clocking 38.19 & 31.16 secs.
