Team Qatar head to Phoenix to face Honduras in 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup

Phoenix: The Qatar national football team are headed to Phoenix, Arizona, in preparation to face off Honduras at the State Farm Stadium on June 29, as part of their Group B matches at the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup hosted by the US and Canada, from June 24 - 16 July.

In their opening match, Qatar lost on Sunday night against Haiti 2-1 at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

This was the first official encounter between the two nations, as Qatar returned for their second appearance against a tournament regular in Haiti, who were making a third consecutive participation.

Following the match against Honduras, Qatar will face Mexico at the end of the group stage at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on July 2.

Mexico currently leads the Group B standings with 3 points, after having defeated Honduras in the first round 4-0. Haiti occupies second also with 3 points, whilst the Qatar are in third, and Honduras are fourth with no points.

Under the cooperation agreement with the Qatar Football Association, CONCACAF invited the Qatar national team to participate as a guest of honour.
