Just days after
Rudolfo Arruabarrena’s departure, Al Rayyan SC have appointed former Al Gharafa
and Umm Salal manager, Bülent Uygun, as head coach.
Having
managed Umm Salal for three years, Uygun moved to Al Gharafa in January 2018,
completing the rest of the season with them before stepping away from the QNB
Stars League.
However, despite
Al Rayyan’s fourth position in the league, the level of their performance has
come under scrutiny as of late, and a defeat to bottom club Al Khor in week eight appeared to be the final straw, sparking the return of the Turk to the Qatari
league.
