On behalf of the QOC President H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, the QOC First Vice President H.E. Mohamed bin Yousef Al-Mana attended the opening ceremony of the 15th Arab Games-Algeria 2023.
This year’s edition of the Games is held in Algiers, Oran, Tipaza and Constantine from July 05-15 with participation of 3500 athletes from 22 nations.
The Prime Minister of Algeria Aymen Benabderrahmane announced the games open with attendance of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees President Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal and the Algerian Olympic Committee President Abderrahmane Hammad.
Team Qatar is represented by 115 athletes (men and women) from 12 local federations including handball, volleyball, basketball, swimming, Triathlon (cycling), athletics, gymnastics, chess, fencing, sailing, boxing, Qatar Paralympic Committee (goal ball and para-athletics), Karate, judo and badminton.
