Qatar athletes continue impressive run at Arab Games

The Qatar athletes kept their winning streak on Wednesday after claiming two bronze medals in the fencing and the table tennis events at the Arab Games, which is running from 5th to 15th July in Algeria.

The Qatari fencing team of Mishaal Al Qahtani, Muhammad Al Awlan, Jaber Al Fadaq and Muhammad Al Hazaa claimed the bronze in the fencing team event while Ahmed Khalil, Mohamed Abdel Wahhab, Fahd Al Mughni, Ahmed Al Awlaki and Abdullah Abdel Wahhab claimed the table tennis team bronze for Qatar.

Right now, team Qatar medal tally has jumped to 17 medals, six gold, two silver and nine bronze medals with two days to go.

Meanwhile, Qatar's handball team produced a solid performance Wednesday to secure a narrow 24-23 victory over Iraqi counterparts and advanced to the final game of the Men’s handball event at the Arab Games, which is running from 5th to 15th July in Algeria.

Team Qatar is looking to step up the highest spot of the podium when they shake hands with Saudi Arabia in the men’s handball final to be held in Oran on Friday.
