Qatar handball team yesterday clinched gold medal at the 15th Arab Games-Algeria as Grandmaster Zhu Chen notched up her second consecutive gold medal in Algiers yesterday.

The national men’s handball team registered a dominant 38-24 victory over Saudi Arabia in the final.

Chen, who won the rapid chess gold on Thursday, accumulated eight points to win the blitz chess event.

Algerian player Sabrina Latrash claimed silver medal with 7 points while her compatriot Lina Nasr secured bronze medal after earning a total of 6.5 points.

Team Qatar received another medal yesterday when men’s volleyball team defeated Jordan 3-1 to win bronze medal.

Al Annabi have so far clinched 21 medals including nine gold, two silver and 10 bronze medals.

Meanwhile, Qatar’s 3x3 basketball team comprising Omar Saad, Mohammed Hashim, Mubarak Jamea and Ahmed Saeed continued its brilliant performance, registering fifth victory to qualify for the semi-finals of the competition.
