Major League Soccer club Inter Miami presented its new Argentine star, Lionel Messi, to the team's fans, in a special event held at the DRV Pink stadium.
Messi received his team shirt, which has the number 10, during the celebration, which was live-streamed.
Messi said in his speech to the crowd: "I want to thank all the people of Miami for their welcome and love since I arrived in this city", adding "The truth is that Im very excited and very happy to be here in Miami and to be with you."
The Argentine star continued:"I cant wait to start training and competing. Im here with the desire Ive always had to compete, to want to win, and to help the club continue to grow."
The stadium was practically full, despite the event being delayed by poor weather.
Former Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets was also presented to the fans, hours after Inter Miami officially announced his contract.
Busquets, who spent a long career in Barcelona, left the team at the end of last season to be reunited with his former team-mate Messi, whose deal was officially announced Saturday.
