Qatari swimmer Yacob Al Khulaifi finished second in the 100m butterfly
qualifiers on Monday at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, which
will run until the 18th of October.
Al Khulaifi came in second place in his heats in a time of 57.09
seconds, but that wasn't enough for him to secure a place in the final.
Yacob Al Khulaifi was Qatar's flag-bearer at the opening ceremony of
Youth Olympics. He qualified to participate in the Youth Olympics in Argentina,
after winning a gold medal in the 50m butterfly and a silver in the 200m
freestyle at the Sarajevo International Swimming Championships held in Bosnia
and Herzegovina this year.
Qatar's hurdler Awab Baro, discus thrower Ahmed Al Haj and swimmer
Abdul Aziz Mohamed are also preparing to participate in the competitions.
