Doha,Qatar- The Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation
is gearing up for the 2018 edition of the Qatar Classic, scheduled from the 27th of October to the 2nd of November. The online sales of tickets for the prestigious tournament
started today.
The world's best players, including the top 30, are
participating in the tournament, involving three-time winner and defending
champion Mohammed El Shorbagy of Egypt, world number two Ali Farag of Egypt, Marwan
El Shorbagy, Germany's Simon Rosner, Colombia's Miguel Angel Rodriguez and
Gregory Gaultier of France.
Qatar's challenge will be led by Abdullah Mohamed al-Tamimi,
the world number 28, who broke into the world's top 30 rankings after his
remarkable victory at the $35,000 Malaysian Open title in July.
“We are proud to host another edition of the prestigious
Qatar Classic. The tournament has grown to become one of the major cornerstones
in Qatar's sports calendar. As usual, fans of squash will have another
opportunity to see the world's best players at close quarters and enjoy
their beloved sport during this week-long festival of squash. We are looking
forward to seeing the fans troop out in large numbers to enjoy this amazing
experience," Tournament Director Tareq Zainal said of the upcoming event.
Fans can now purchase tickets for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final of the prestigious squash event by visiting www.qatarsquash.org.
Tickets will also be available onsite at Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex, the venue of the event, from the 17th of October.
