Al Markhiya coach Madjid Bougherra spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 21 match against Al Arabi.
“We will not feel comfortable after the two victories over Al Ahli and Al Gharafa in the past two rounds, and we will continue to fight hard until the end to ensure we remain in the league.
“Al Arabi are a very good team, but my team knows what it has to do at this stage, despite the difficulty of the match, which is like a final match.
“The match will be very difficult like all previous matches, so we are preparing for it as we did in previous matches, focusing on recovery, and on the tactical, technical and psychological aspects.
“When you work, sometimes it takes some time to achieve what you want and the matter here is related to the players whom we have to congratulate and give them the best, because it is difficult when you are in a late position in the standings and lose. More than once, we had to boost the confidence of the players in order to achieve victory, and this is what we did,” said Bougherra.
Al Markhiya player Ibrahim Masoud said, “The team is ready for this game despite its difficulty and we aspire to achieve victory in the Al Arabi match, and seek to continue on the path of victories. We are keen to continue the good performances, which shows the true potential and capabilities of the players.”
The match is set to take place tomorrow (April 24) at 18:30 Doha time at Al Thumama Stadium.
