Yangzhou, China- The Qatari duo of Sherif Younis and Ahmed Tejan would take on Ukrainian Sergei Popovier and Slavjurdev in the Yangzhou leg of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour, here today.
The prestigious event brings together top world ranking teams from Italy, Belgium, Russia, Latvia, Germany, China, Netherlands, United States of America, Australia and Poland.
Team Qatar has been ranked number nine in the tournament. This is following their impressive win at the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship in Satun, Thailand. It was the second major title for Cherif and Ahmed after winning gold at the 2018 Asian Games Beach Volleyball in Indonesia Jakarta this year.
At the Asian Games the Qatari pair defeated the Indonesian pair of Mohammad Ashfiya and Ade Rachmawan.
