The Qatari first volleyball team maintained its 21st position in the world team rankings recently issued by the International Volleyball Federation, after the good results it achieved in the Asian Challenge Cup qualifying tournament for the World Challenge Cup, which was held in Bahrain winning the title to obtain 153.67 points.
The Polish team topped the world rankings with 410.36 points, the Italian team came in second place with 369.30 points, then the Japanese team with 348.41 points came in third place, and the Brazilian team came in fourth place with 342.82 points.
The Qatari volleyball team arrived Monday (June 10) at Hamad International Airport after winning the Asian Challenge Cup title.
The Qatari team defeated its Pakistani counterpart in the final match in three games (25-22, 25-20, 25-19) to win the championship cup and gold medals.
Secretary General of the Qatar Volleyball Federation Yousef Kanoo, praised the teams victory and the achievement by winning the Asian Volleyball Challenge Cup title, pointing to the outstanding level demonstrated by the team during the strong matches it played in the competition.
