Daniel Cormier has suggested that Alex Pereira could emerge as the UFC's leading figure, citing the Brazilian light heavyweight champion's recent string of headline fights. Pereira, known as "Poatan," is set to rematch Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 303 on June 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, stepping in after a bout between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler fell through.

Cormier highlighted Pereira's willingness to accept fights on short notice, noting his headlining of significant events like UFC 300 and multiple appearances at Madison Square Garden. He emphasized Pereira's growing financial success and popularity, attributing it to his active participation in high-profile bouts.

While Cormier acknowledged Conor McGregor's enduring status as the UFC's biggest star, alongside figures like Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya, he posited that Pereira's consistency and presence in the octagon could position him as a strong contender for the face of the promotion.

"In terms of star power, it's always going to be difficult to surpass Conor McGregor," Cormier said. "But considering Pereira's durability, activity, willingness to fight, and status as a two-division champion, one might wonder: Is Alex Pereira now the face of the UFC?"
