Nate Diaz is always looking ahead.

After his majority decision win in the boxing match against Jorge Masvidal on Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Diaz had several potential opponents in mind—all of whom he has faced before.

In his post-fight interview with Brian Campbell, Diaz mentioned Jake Paul as a possible next opponent but later explained why Paul's name came up first.

“(Paul) was just the first name that came to mind because I’d like to beat him up,” Diaz told MMA Junkie and other reporters at a post-fight news conference. “I’d also like a win against Leon Edwards, who is currently the best fighter at 170.”

Diaz's next move is uncertain. Will it be boxing or MMA? No one knows. But one thing is clear: Diaz wants fights that will earn him the most respect—and the most money.

“That’s the only thing on my mind, is whoever thinks they’re tough can get their ass kicked,” Diaz said.

One fight Diaz is not interested in right now is a rematch with Masvidal.

Despite their combat sports record being tied with one win each, Diaz dismisses the idea of a third fight with Masvidal for the time being.

“That’s a whole other situation for later,” Diaz said. “I think we’re 1-0 against each other. He got a win in MMA, and I got a win in boxing. Who knows what will happen with him… but at some point, something.”
