Earlier on Wednesday, Qatar beat Sri Lanka 2-1 in their opening tie of the group stage.
Mubarak Shanan won the opening singles against Apna Perera while Rashid Nawaf won the second match against Ashin Silva. In doubles, Qatari duo of Meshari Nawaf and Musa Shanan lost to Harshana Godamanao and Thihan Sanjaya Vegeman.
The Qatar team comprises Musa Shanan, Mubarak Shanan, Ghanem Al Sulaiti, Rashid Nawaf, and Mashari Nawaf along with coach Munir Al Araj.
Qatar had won promotion to Asia/Oceania Group IV in October last year with a 3-0 win over Mongolia in the promotional play-off at Group V event in Bahrain.
