Doha: Al Gharafa SC suffered a narrow 2-3 defeat against Al Sharjah FC of the United Arab Emirates in a friendly match played in Slovakia, yesterday.
The encounter, held as part of their pre-season training camp ahead of the upcoming Ooredoo Stars League season, saw the Emirati side dominating the first half, scoring three goals. However, the Qatari side fought back in the second half, netting two goals thanks to Senegalese Seydou Sano and Algerian forward Yacine Brahimi.
Meanwhile, Al Khor SC drew 1-1 with Bucaspor in a friendly match held as part of their training camp in Turkiye, Midfielder Mohammed Al Hajri scored Al Khor's only goal.
The friendly clash followed their impressive victories against Ispartaspor (7-0) and Antalyaspor (2-1). Al Khor will continue to train in Turkiye until July 28 before returning to Doha ahead of their opening Ooredoo Stars League match against Al Gharafa SC on August 9 at Al Bayt Stadium.
