Ilia Topuria is set to face a legendary opponent this October.
The fight poster for UFC 308 has been released, with the event scheduled for October 26 in Abu Dhabi. In the main event, Topuria will defend his featherweight title for the first time against Max Holloway, the reigning “BMF” champion.
Topuria, still undefeated, captured the 145-pound title with a knockout of Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298 earlier this year, becoming the first to defeat Volkanovski in the featherweight division. His popularity continues to grow in both Spain and Georgia.
Max Holloway, a former featherweight champion, claimed the BMF title at UFC 300 after a win over Justin Gaethje. He has won three straight fights following a trilogy loss to Volkanovski.
In the co-main event at UFC 308, former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker will face unbeaten Khamzat Chimaev. Whittaker is seeking another title shot, while Chimaev aims to establish himself as the top contender despite having fought only four times in the past three years.
