Al Ahli coach Igor Bišcan spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 5 match against Al Arabi.
“We always look forward to continuing the positive results in the competition with our collective and individual capabilities and keenness to continue on the path of distinguished and effective performance.
“We prepared well for the match and worked with our players to increase the levels of psychological focus and I believe that Al Arabi is a strong team with distinguished players. Their results in the past rounds do not reflect their true level. The match is considered as a derby specific to the Al Hilal region and has great value.
“The Al Arabi match is one of the most important fixtures for me in Al Ahli and the team must appear at a strong level to achieve the desired result for the club’s fans.
“I do not consider the team reaching the 10th point in the league standings due to not losing in the four matches we played, as much as I think about continuing to work to continue to provide the best levels and achieve the best results in the upcoming rounds. The team players have faith in their abilities to continue to make a distinguished appearance,” said Bišcan.
Al Ahli player Bahaa Ellethi said, “We realize the strength of Al Arabi and their position in Qatar football. They are a strong team with many capabilities and the match against them will be difficult, but we have prepared well for it and will work to achieve our goal, which is victory.
“I have found myself in the Al Ahli system and my fellow players play with a winning spirit, which will push me to provide the expected level.
