MISANO, Italy – Enea Bastianini claimed a historic and dramatic victory at the Emilia Romagna MotoGP, marking Ducati's 100th Grand Prix win at their home track in Misano.

The race, which took place on Sunday, saw Bastianini snatch victory from championship leader Jorge Martin with a bold last-lap overtake, ensuring a landmark win for Ducati.

The Italian rider executed a daring pass on Martin during the final lap, pushing the Spaniard out of the track. Despite the controversy on the overtake, the race stewards have chosen not to take action, allowing Bastianini to celebrate his first place on the podium.

Jorge Martin, who had led the race until the last minute, finished second but gained critical ground in the championship. With Francesco Bagnaia crashing out with seven laps to go, Martin now extends his lead in the standings, breaking 24 points clear of his rival.

Bagnaia’s crash occurred while he was attempting to close the gap to the leading duo of Martin and Bastianini. His early pace made him the race leader in the very first laps, but he faded after being passed by both Martin and Bastianini in the early stages of the race.

The crash opened the door for Marc Marquez, who secured a third-place finish. The San Marino GP winner benefitted from Bagnaia’s exit and earlier incidents involving Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta to claim a podium finish.

With the result, Ducati also secured the 2024 Constructors’ Championship, solidifying their dominance in a symbolic win at home.

The Emilia Romagna GP was added to the calendar in place of the canceled India and Kazakhstan rounds, proving to be a memorable moment in both the world championship race and Ducati's history in MotoGP.
