Qatar's U-20 national team is set to kick off their AFC U-20 Asian Cup 2025 qualifying campaign today, taking on Singapore at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium at 20:00. This crucial opening match will see the young Qatari squad, led by coach Félix Ángel, aiming for a strong start in Group J, where they are paired with Jordan, Singapore, and Hong Kong, China.

High Stakes for Qatar

As Qatar enters this highly competitive tournament, coach Félix Ángel expressed the team's excitement and determination. “We are excited to enter this tournament with high spirits. This competition presents a big challenge for us, and the first match is a tough one,” Ángel said ahead of the clash with Singapore. He also acknowledged the significance of playing on home soil but stressed that every team starts on an equal footing. “We are playing on home turf, but all teams have equal chances. Our focus is on our opening match, which is a difficult one.”

Despite the high hopes, Qatar currently sits at the bottom of Group J, with three losses and zero points. A victory over Singapore would not only boost their morale but also keep their qualification hopes alive.
