The draw for the Asian Basketball Super League (ABSL) took place on Friday evening via Zoom in Beirut, setting the stage for the upcoming tournament.

Qatar’s Al Arabi, the defending champions of the Qatar Basketball League and the second most successful club in the country in terms of trophies, was drawn into the challenging Group B. They will face tough competition from Kuwaiti club Al Qadisiyah, Bahrain’s Al Manama, and Saudi Arabia's Jeddah Union.

Meanwhile, Kuwaiti team Al-Kuwait was placed in Group A, a group considered more balanced, where they will compete against Bahrain’s Al Ahli, Oman’s Al Bishr, and UAE’s Shabab Al Ahli.

The ABSL is scheduled to kick off on October 14, with matches taking place across the Gulf region. However, the West Asian Championship, initially planned earlier, has been postponed to December 4 due to security concerns in the area.
