Al Sadd gear up for Persepolis

Al Sadd's coach, Felix Sanchez, expressed confidence that his team is ready to face Persepolis in their upcoming AFC Champions League (ACL) match, aiming to build on their strong start to the tournament. Currently in third place in the West group with four points from a win and a draw, Al Sadd will host Persepolis at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium tonight at 7pm.

Al Sadd are chasing leaders Al Hilal and Al Ahli, who have won both of their opening matches. The Qatari side enters the game following a 4-2 victory over Al Shahania in the Ooredoo Stars League.

Despite the hectic schedule, Sanchez assured that his team is well-prepared for the challenge. "We are focused on achieving a positive result against Persepolis," he said. "We understand their playing style and are ready to deliver a strong performance."

Sanchez stressed that all Champions League matches are important and require full concentration. "We are confident in our ability to perform well," he added.

Persepolis, who are yet to secure a win in the competition, are currently in eighth place after a loss to Al Ahli and a draw against Pakhtakor from Uzbekistan. However, they have a solid historical record against Al Sadd, having won four of their seven previous encounters.

Despite this, Al Sadd goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham remains undeterred by past results. "It will be a tough match, but we are confident in putting on a good show for our fans," he said. "Our focus is on this game, not the past."

Persepolis coach Juan Carlos Garrido acknowledged the challenge of playing against Al Sadd at home, describing the match as crucial for his team. "We know it's a difficult game, but we will work hard to achieve the result we need," he said.

Persepolis midfielder Omid Alishah also emphasized the team's determination. "We respect Al Sadd, but we believe in our abilities and are here to win," he said.
