The draw ceremony for the 47th edition of the Amir Cup took place earlier today at the Marsa Malaz Kempinski, Doha.
Initiated in 1972, the Amir Cup combines all 12 QNB Stars League sides, with four Second Division teams.
The first round of the Amir Cup 2019 took place on Thursday evening at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, when 4th and 5th place in the Second Division, Mesaimeer and Al Shamal, battled in out for their place in this year’s tournament, with Al Shamal coming out on top in a convincing 2-1 victory.
The draw this morning determined that in the first match of round two, Al Shamal will face Umm Salal, in match two, Al Wakrah will face Al Khor, in match three, Al Markhiya will face Al Khairaityat and in match four, Muaither will face Qatar Sports Club.
